The 2025 World Mountain & Trail Running Championships place Canfranc and the Aragonese Pyrenees at the very heart of international mountain and trail running. For four days, the surrounding peaks become the stage for a challenge as spectacular as it is demanding, with landscapes that reflect both the grandeur and the toughness of high mountains.

Five disciplines shape the championship: the power of the Uphill, the tradition of the Classic, the future of the Under20 category, and the endurance of the Short Trail and the Long Trail. Different challenges that push the best athletes on the planet to their limits in an environment where every meter must be earned through effort.

The event is jointly organized by World Athletics, the World Mountain Running Association (WMRA), the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU), and the Real Federación Española de Atletismo (RFEA), reinforcing its status as a global reference.
